Medication Safety

At Home

With three times as many prescriptions filled in the U.S. than in 1980 and five times as many dollars spent on over-the-counter medicine, there are more medicines in the home today than ever before. In March 2016, Safe Kids Worldwide is releasing a new report titled “The Rise of Medicine in the Home: Implications for Today’s Children.” The report is a call to action for families and caregivers – sharing facts, providing insights about risk factors for accidental medicine poisoning and helping families learn what they need to do to keep their kids safe around medicine. These resources can help education your family to promote medication safety.
