New Partnership Leads to Exciting Programming for 2022

Northern New Jersey Safe Kids / Safe Communities partnered with Winter4Kids to bring innovated programs on Distracted Driving to their program participants.

Throughout the ski season we “camped out” in the all-purpose room and interacted with the teens to discuss distracted driving. We utilized the Distract a Match game and discussed ways they can avoid distraction as a passenger and driver.

The students were engaged, and our discussion was extended to winter helmet safety and why it is important to avoid distractions when skiing.

Northern New Jersey Safe Kids / Safe Communities has extended the partnership to their summer programming and has donated 70 helmets for their mountain bike program.

Winter4Kids exists to create healthy lifestyles and influence behaviors of youth through winter activities.  Better health and attitudes are the result of increased moderate to vigorous activity, nutritious food, and coaching.  Lives are changed, outlooks are brighter as each of our participants become better individuals through the mastery of snow and life skills.  Our youth use these experiences to explore and pursue new academic, life and sport opportunities.
